Is living in western countries as cool as it sounds?

As a Chinese Malaysian too, I am somewhat embarrassed to say that I give my vote to living in western countries is a really as cool as it sounds. Ever since this year’s March election turmoil, Malaysia’s economy had been going down. As if worldwide food shortage and the hefty price increase in our daily food staple is not enough, we still had to deal with an overnight jump of 40% rise to petrol and almost 60% raise to diesels prices, every citizen in this country is feeling the pinch. In most companies, salary had not gone up at all and our currency is plummeting every single day. The government’s political bickering is only causing more hardship for everyone. Their self sabotage tactic (Anwar) and accusations appears to be in the headlines everyday. Abdullah who is playing the victim had no intention of setting harmony to the public since he knows that he’ll be stepping down soon in Sept, he might as well create a havoc for the opposition to clean up his mess later. I could not see how we can eradicate poverty in government 2015 plan. Well, every country has their own political problems but there is a big difference between the citizens here and in those western countries.
First of all Money, the currency value in most western countries are much higher than ours and they make more money in terms of Dollar to Dollar. Though the tax and rentals in these countries are costly, most working class citizen still can manage their life and yet have extra saving but due to the value of our currency we are only able to go on holiday destination like Thailand or Vietnam and even for that to happen it will still require a long period of time savings.
Secondly, the mentality of westerners, most of them are open minded generous and polite genuinely, in fact in an article from Reader’s Digest, a test was done to big cities in the world whereby a person would pretend to drop a pile of documents in a business district, act as a purchasing customer and enter the door to see if the person before wait on the door. Surprisingly, New Yorkers despite their fast paced attitude, they scored the highest in all test while the top 10 list were filled with western countries.
Thirdly, the weather and air is indeed fresher but during summer it can be too hot and dry thus if too unbearable it could cause a heatstroke and people do die from it I’m sure u’ve seen it in the papers. When winter comes its nice but it could a little boring coz there is pretty much nothing to do as most outdoors games are limited, autumn is fantastic and Spring is the best I love it but I don’t know why I’ve always get hay fever in this season thus irritating.
Lastly, the government in these countries take care of their people well with many good benefits for example in Denmark all education is free and if a person is jobless they get money from government to survive and everyone is treated equal. Unlike in Malaysia, only the Malays get the benefits whereas we Chinese stir and slog hard for the Malays and the economy (Corporations MUST HAVE a Malay partner and it doesn’t matter if that Malay would contribute to the company or not, HE by law will share the pie too).

Guess I’m being too long winded here though I have lots of comparison to you like corruption, transit trains (LRT), crimes (conspiracy of Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder linked with DPM Najib and his wife), tolls & highways e.c.t.

Anyhow, to wind it up, you will do better off overseas, as a Chinese Malaysia, we’ll be treated much fairly overseas and it will be much affordable and safer to raise a family there.
